How we approach it
We use proper test equipment — multimeters, insulation resistance testers and thermal imaging where useful — rather than guesswork. Most faults are found and resolved on the same visit; more complex intermittent issues occasionally need a follow-up visit to catch the fault recurring.

If you can smell burning or see scorch marks, switch off the relevant circuit at the consumer unit if it's safe to do so, and call us immediately — this is treated as an emergency call-out.

My breaker trips only sometimes — can you still find it?
Yes, though intermittent faults sometimes take longer to isolate. We'll talk you through what to note (time of day, which appliances were on) to help narrow it down.
Is fault finding charged separately from the repair?
We quote for diagnosis and, once the cause is confirmed, give you a separate price for the fix before doing any further work.
